Kings Langley is home to a great range of businesses and places of interest. Within 5 miles of the centre you'll find just about everything you'll ever need for business, shopping, pleasure & leisure as well as some of Hertfordshire's most beautiful countryside.

We have one of the world's top 100 hotels right on the doorstep: The Grove www.thegrove.co.uk. Anyone who's been fortunate enough to eat or stay at The Grove knows what a jewel we have in our neighbourhood.

To the rear of Kings Langley railway station (hard to miss with a 100 foot wind turbine marking the spot) is the global headquarters of Renewable Energy Systems (RES) www.res-ltd.com - a world leader in wind and solar-power generation and heat storage. From Kings Langley, RES manages subsidiaries in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Switzerland and Scandinavia. And with over 100 staff it's the largest employer within Kings Langley's boundaries.

Our High Street is still a lively place to shop and meet your neighbours........ hairdressers, pet shop, art galleries, health food store, deli, grocers, newsagent.... they're all there, a focus for community life and the one of the engines of the local economy: money spent there stays local, unlike the money you spend at Tesco, Asda and the like.

Kings Langley also has plenty of good places to wine and dine, snack and sip. At the top of the hill you'll find The Old Palace - www.old-palace.co.uk -- a stunning place to have a drink and to dine in fine style.

If you're in business in Abbots Langley, Apsley, Bovingdon and Chipperfield then why not advertise on this site? It's free for the first 12 months starting August 1st 2008 - and you get the chance to have your business found on the Internet even though you may not have a website. To set up your advertisement simply click here, create an account and within hours your advert will go live. You won't be asked for any money or credit card details - nothing. This is a no strings attached deal.

By advertising here you're promoting your business and helping keep a great community in good heart. The giant retailers such as Tesco want to take over the nation's high streets--but imagine a world without local shops, a place where even to get a pint of milk means a car trip, a place where our access to food is controlled by the mega companies. No high street: no place to stroll, meet, chat, shop. Let's keep that bleak prospect at bay in Kings Langley and its neighbouring towns by promoting and supporting our local shops.

Small stores in communities such as Kings Langley, Chipperfield, Bovingdon and Abbots Langley give those communities a heart. Imagine there were no stores and we were to rely entirely on Tesco, Sainsbury's or Asda. It would be a sad old place to live: we'd have no local point to venture, meet, chat, and shop of course. When we need milk or eggs we'd have to get the car out for a run to the nearest mega-store to do something that we now can do with a brief stroll. Let's hope this never happens - but in reality the aggressive nature of some of these big guns in retail means they'd happily see off every store in the land in pusuit of ruling our every consumer need.

This website promotes local business to local residents. We hope this website can do its bit to help keep local businesses thriving and keep those monsters of retail at bay. LET'S KEEP IT LOCAL!

We've prepared a few photos ready for use for all the High Street stores - Click Here - and you should see your shop image stored and ready to use. But call if you need help (07709 356910 and speak to Ed the Editor! who happens to be a photographer who can easily come to see you if you want more detailed/different/better images of your business) Or you can visit him: Ed's business is based in Kings Langley. If you want to pop round to see him - call first and he'll put the kettle on!

So save money getting your business on the Internet . . . These local businesses already signed up:

www.old-palace.co.uk The Old Palace at the top of Langley Hill, Kings Langley, had us create their new site - you really don't need to go to great expense of a full blown website: John and Iris were more than happy to use us, and all for an incredibly low price - 5 pages - email/webmail - photos included . . . I'm local - so are you . .

www.thebarberslounge.co.uk This site took just a week to create. Ask Mike if he's happy! I'm local - so are you . .

We aim to make this a very special local business website – so you have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Kings Langley and the surrounding areas like Abbots Langley, Apsley, Bovingdon and Chipperfield have for too long gone without a meaningful website which can serve the businesses and their customers well.
